Our First Community Information Meeting
On Thursday January 8, 2015 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm Build Toronto (now part of CreateTO), in partnership with the City of Toronto and MMM Group (now WSP), hosted its first Community Information Meeting at the Fort York Visitors Centre.
We were pleased to meet with members of the local community to re-introduce a new process around the Fort York Bridge project and to discuss what is of importance around this new connection. The meeting followed an open format structure where display boards were set up detailing the project. City of Toronto, Build Toronto (now part of CreateTO) and MMM Group (now WSP) staff members were in attendance to answer questions and engage in dialogue.
The project team would like to thank all who provided comments during and after the Community Information Meeting. These comments address important aspects the community has stated they would like the project team to consider as part of this development. The team will be reviewing all input for consideration as part of the project.
Some of the key themes evident within the public comments include:
- Accessible and well thought out trail connections
- Bridge access, including stairs, ramps and cycling consideration,
- Interactions between pedestrians and cyclist, and;
- Park design and community garden protection
If you were not able to attend and would like more information, have questions, or would like to provide your thoughts around what is important to you, please feel free to send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
